On July 19, 2009, Sgt. Avery
was felled in his home by a failing heart. We will miss this fine
officer and good friend. The following are some photos taken of Tom
through the years. We
will miss Tom at the Sheriff’s Office. His acts of daily
consideration, cooperation and good humor were his trademark. He has
left behind a legacy of fond memories and deep respect for the man
who was a fine officer and gentleman.
