indictment warrant issued by the Delaware County Court. Pashley-Johns was charged with one count of Criminal Sale
of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Class B Felony, for selling Heroin. Pashley-Johns was arraigned in
the Delaware County Court on Monday, December 3, and remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility in
lieu of $25,000.00 bail.
Members of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit will continue their efforts to arrest
and prosecute individuals involved in the distribution of illicit drugs in the Walton area as well as all of the towns and
villages of Delaware County. Investigations are on-going and more arrests are pending.

In addition to her road patrol duties, Deputy Sheriff Kim Smith oversees our
Evidence Division. She is responsible for processing the data collected at crime
scenes. With the aid of state- of-the-art computer equipment, she identifies,
documents, and secures a wide variety of evidence. Her duties in this regard include:

Documenting evidence collected at a crime scene, using photo and video
depiction

Collecting evidence to include fingerprints and footprint development
C
Preparing a well-organized set of field notes in preparation of a written
report and subsequent trial testimony.

Submitting physical evidence for further forensic analysis, including DNA .

Assisting fellow law enforcement officers regarding crime scene evidence
processing.
C
Preserving evidence until such time as it is ready to be returned to the
owner or destroyed.
