Direct supervision: At the Delaware County Correction Facility, correction
officers work inside the cell block with the inmates 24 hours a day, without any
separation from them. This concept provides for active and continuous supervision of
the inmates to better manage those inmates who have committed less serious offenses.
Our Medical Division provides a necessary service to the
health and welfare of our inmate population. RN Mary Lou Oliver supervises our in-house staff.
We have a doctor “on call” and a resident RN on premises, along with part-time LPN assistance.
CHAPLAINS
The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Chaplaincy
is made up of volunteer chaplains who have faithfully
served us for many years. They include: Yetzchak S.
Bernath, Joel Gold, John Grenier, Derek Johnson, Elliott
Oakes, Jane Ramano and Kristine Warren
The chaplains have made numerous hospital calls.
They have also worked with families who have experienced tragic events in their lives. They help provide resources
and conduct weddings when asked
