Delaware County offers many
challenges for crime prevention. Many of our citizens live in rural,
isolated areas and many of our homes are occupied only by seasonal
residents. Remember, a thief will pick homes that can be entered
quickly, and without detection. Most of us can’t afford surveillance
cameras and a pack of guard dogs. We must rely on our wits and the
resources we have at hand. Fortunately, our citizenry are well aware
of that and most have established preparedness plans, by following
