INFORMATION & REFERRAL

In order to assist seniors and their advocates in overcoming difficulties, our well-trained staff is prepared to provide a wide variety of information.  In situations where another agency or organization would be better suited to provide assistance, we will refer our clients and follow up to make sure that the client's needs are addressed.

EISEP: EXPANDED IN-HOME SERVICES FOR THE ELDERLY PROGRAM

Assisting older persons toward independent living is a primary concern and goal of the Office for the Aging. A cost-sharing program of homemaking and personal care assistance has been established for non-Medicaid eligible persons who are sixty and over. By helping with housework, shopping and personal care, EISEP services may allow the older citizen to remain at home where s/he is comfortable. Contact the EISEP Case Manager at the Office for the Aging for more information about these services (607-746-6333).

EMERGENCY RESPONSE SYSTEM (ERS)

A personal emergency response unit can be installed in the home of an individual who may be medically at risk or socially isolated. ERS  services are offered by our agency. Call us at 607-746-6333 if you have need of these services.

MEALS ON WHEELS

HEAP provides Delaware County's eligible older population with financial help to pay heating bills. HEAP assistance may be applied for by those age 60 and over by calling  (607-746-6333) and requesting a mail-in application.   Eligibility is based on monthly gross income, the number of persons living in the household, and the heating situation.
