Corporate Angel Network, a nonprofit organization, provides free plane transportation for cancer patients going to/from recognized cancer hospitals by using empty seats aboard corporate aircraft operating on business flights. Service is available to cancer patients of all ages who are ambulatory, in stable condition, and require no life support or IV’s. If space is available, companion may accompany patient.
Medical Transportation
Non-emergency medical transportation sometimes referred to as Ambulette Service provides fee-based door-to-door service when full ambulance/emergency service is not necessary and curb-to-curb transportation, and a taxi is not adequate or available. Office for the Aging offers a program to assist elders in need of transportation to access health related services such as regularly scheduled doctor’s appointments and pharmaceutical services. There is a cap of 4 trips a year per individual.

Delaware County Veterans Service Agency provides transportation service to the VA Medical Center-Albany for veterans. Van service has pick up points in Delhi, Walton, Bloomville, Hobart, Stamford and Grand Gorge. Van riders should be at the pick-up point 15 minutes prior to the departure time to prevent missing the van. Please call for further information and to set up transportation.

The Office for the Aging operates a limited fixed route bus system. It transports elders to larger communities both within the county and beyond so they can access shopping, medical and personal business services. The handicapped accessible system is available for day trip charters. Please call office for bus schedule.
