This service is offered to promote Advocacy, provide education and support about Alzheimer’s and dementia. The Alzheimer’s Association provides a broad range of programs and services for people with the disease, their families and caregivers, as well as professional care providers. Services include a Helpline offering 24-hour/7 days a week support, care consultations, support groups, educational and training services and the Safe Return Program for wanderers.

This clinic provides assessment and treatment planning, individual therapy, marriage counseling, medication therapy, EMDR, and consultation.

Limited evening hours available. The Delaware County Mental Health Clinic offers a full range of professional outpatient mental health services including; assessment, diagnosis, individual, group, and family psychotherapy, community and agency consultation and referral to inpatient psychiatric facilities. Multidisciplinary staff includes a psychiatrist, psychologist, and social workers. Crisis Intervention and emergency care is provided. There are also case managers to help individuals negotiate systems and access eligible services.

Provides professional psychological counseling to people with physical disabilities and their families, with a focus on disabled persons with emotional problems related to disability. Special emphasis for newly-diagnosed or newly acquired disabling conditions.

Community resource and authority on grieving and bereavement. Provides monthly Bereavement Support Groups for all ages (children, teens and adults) with individual bereavement counseling available. Offers “Camp Forget-Me-Not”, a two-day camp for grieving children and teens. Services are free of charge and open to any grieving community members.

The Delaware County Veterans Service Agency, like other county veterans service agencies in the State of New York, was established under Executive Law 357 in 1945. An agency with responsibility for administrating and coordinating a broad spectrum of federal, state, local and private veterans benefits and services affecting veterans and their families in Delaware County.

Provides counseling to veterans, dependents, and widows regarding service benefits, applications, problem solving, representation with the VA. Assists with applying for benefits, such as pensions, compensations, blind annuity, educational services, and burial benefits.

A behavioral health care team consisting of social workers, psychiatrists, a psychiatric nurse, and visiting counselors from Syracuse VA Medical Center, provide medications, individual and group psychotherapy for veterans, specializing in Post-traumatic Stress Disorder and Health Care for Homeless Veterans Program.
