CSHCN/PHCP program which will pay for audiological evaluation for children. There is no financial criteria for the D & E part of the program (Diagnosis & Evaluation). Any child can get (with a referral from their PCP) an evaluation for any of the conditions covered by CSHCN/PHCP. One of these is an audiological evaluation. If it is determined from this audiological evaluation that a child is in need of hearing aids, the family can apply for the treatment portion of the CSHCN/PHCP program. This part of the program is based on income. If they qualify, the program will pay for the hearing aids, batteries, etc... Depending on the family's income, they may need to pay a portion of the costs back to the county.

Conducts hearing evaluations and audiology testing services for clients of any age who have a physician’s referral. Accepts Medicaid. Call for an appointment.

Deaf Services Coordinator offers information & referrals for persons with hearing loss. For a fee, sign language interpreters facilitate communication with professionals (i.e. doctors, attorneys, Dept. of Social Services). When appropriate, STIC advocates payment through the professional initiating the request.
