Chronic Care Medicaid
This program will pay for skilled nursing care for eligible
recipients in appropriately certified facilities or who qualify for the
Long Term Home Health Care Program (LTHHCP). For individuals or married
couples looking for "nursing home without walls" care, the LTHHCP
program allows them to receive care at home paid by Medicaid.
Spousal Impoverishment Budgeting
Analyzes the treatment of income and resources of a couple when
determining eligibility for an institutionalized spouse. Spousal
impoverishment budgeting rules protect some of the couples income and
resources the support of the community spouse. These rules allow the
community spouse of a waiver to retain more income and resources than he
or she might under Medicaid community budgeting rules or nursing home
resident.

The Delaware County Veterans Service Agency, like other county veterans service agencies in the State of New York, was established under Executive Law 357 in 1945. Non-service connected pension-income vs. out of pocket medical expenses. Surviving Spouse Pension-works the same as previous pension. Aid & Attendance-$90/mo for personal needs of those in nursing home. NYS Veterans Home in Oxford-nursing home care provides medical care & medication covered through VA Clinics & Centers. There are burial benefits for Veterans and will provide a
burial marker for any veteran.

The primary care program provides services at this facility as well as in 11 community-based outpatient clinics.
Specialized Services
The Stratton VA Medical Center provides specialized medical services such as: cardiac catheterization, cardiac rehabilitation, nuclear medicine, radiation oncology, stereotactic radiosurgery, hospice/palliative care, adult day health care, post-traumatic stress disorder, compensated work therapy, memory clinic, geriatric assessment, nursing home and respite care.
Services for Women
We offer a Women Veterans Health Program that addresses
a variety of health care needs specific to women veterans.
Services include gynecology, bone density screening and on-site mammography.
Lab and Radiology
There is also extensive diagnostic laboratory medicine and radiology including computerized tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging.

and family counseling, and programs such as QuitSmart
Smoking Cessation.
Laboratory: Blood drawing services available.
Prescriptions: Routine prescriptions processed through the
mail.
Radiology: Chest, abdominal, and extremity x-rays available.
