Long-term care is provided to people who are unable to perform the basic tasks of everyday living on their own for an extended period due to chronic medical, physical or cognitive conditions, or disabling injuries. Long-Term Care Insurance covers long-term care services provided in a nursing home, at home, in an assisted living facility, or in other community-based settings.

Advance Planning for End of Life (APEL) program offers unbiased
information and referral on the legal and financial aspects of planning
for the last phase of life. Resources include consumer literature, a
comprehensive "Preparing Now" seminar series offered annually, and
seminars presented by legal and financial experts. Seminars/classes are
designed for consumers and businesses wishing to offer worksite
programs.

Office for the Aging has contracted with Legal Services
of Mid New York to provide legal services for seniors on issues in regard to non-income generating activity.
