Will be out of the county on election day due to
occupation, business, vacation or studies
Is ill or disabled
If you are permanently ill or disabled you may apply for a permanent
absentee ballot.
When your application is
approved a ballot will automatically be mailed to you for each election
in which you are qualified to vote.
How does it work
An absentee ballot is a paper ballot
which looks like the official paper ballot without the scanner timing
marks. The ballot will have instructions for marking the ballot. You
will receive an envelope that you will place the marked ballot into.
This envelope contains an oath which must be signed or your ballot will
not be counted. This envelope also must be sealed or it will not be
counted. You will receive an addressed return envelope that your sealed
ballot envelope is to be placed into and mailed to the Board of
Elections. The ballot must be postmarked no later than the day before
Election Day or, if delivered must be received at the board of elections
no later than 9:00 pm. on Election Day.
How do I apply
You may call, write or visit the board of elections to
request an application. You may request the application at any time.
